In today's health conscious society more and more people are aware of the potential dangers that they are exposed to whether it be at work or in the home. Consumers are asking questions not just about a product's price, quality and availability, but where it was made and how it was made. Consumers are turning to green products.

Candles are one such product, specifically paraffin candles. Paraffin candles, which are what most people are used to buying and burning, emit 11 known toxins into the air that you breathe. There are alternatives which are competitive in price and much more healthy for the environment.

One alternative to paraffin is Soy Candles. Soy candles are eco friendly products that not only are better for you but out last their competitor the paraffin candle. Soy candles last up to 50% longer than paraffin candles and they do not emit black smoke, which can damage your home and furniture.

At ZionsvilleCandleCompany.com each of our soy candles are handmade and use only 100% soy wax for our candles. Another big concern with candles is the use of leaded wicks. Many companies still use them. We do not! We use lead free wicks that are safe for the environment. Soy candles make excellent eco-friendly gifts for any occasion. So if going green is a concern for you, and hopefully it is, then why not buy a soy candle in one of our many delicious fragrances?

Reed diffusers are becoming very popular these days. Many people that enjoy candles also enjoy reed diffusers. For this reason we have decided to sell wood reed diffusers along with our soy candles. To get started we have 8 fragrances that will stimulate your senses. Reed diffuser kits are simple to use and they do not require electricity or flame which means that they work even while you are not home.

When you get your wood reed diffuser just open the cap, pull out the plastic cork, put the wooden sleeve over the top of the bottle and slide your diffuser reeds into the bottle. Once you place the reeds into the bottle, they begin to wick the fragrance oil up until they are completely filled. As air flows through the reeds the fragrance will spread the aroma throughout the room and you will experience the wonderful smell of the fragrance in the air. On average our 4oz reed diffuser kits will last approximately 8-10 weeks.

You will want to turn you reeds over once every couple of days to get the most fragrance out of them. The more often you turn them the stronger the fragrance will smell in the room.

You might wonder what all the big fuss is about Soy Candles theses days.

Here is yet another example of why you should really consider your options before buying another paraffin candle.

According to some Dutch researchers going to churches that burn paraffin candles may not be healthy for your lungs.

They that the paraffin candles and incense regularly burned during some religious services emit high levels of particulate matter, these are tiny airborne particles and they are considered to be one of the most harmful forms of air pollution. This is according to a new study by scientists at Maastricht University in the Netherlands.

These researchers measured the air quality of a small chapel and a large basilica in Maastricht. Here is what they found, the air in both places contained particulate matter at levels up to 20 times higher (yes 20 times higher) than what is considered safe to breathe under the European air pollution standards. These levels are similar to those that can be found in the air beside roads that are driven by 45,000 cars a day. This was according to findings published in the December issue of the European Respiratory Journal.

The researchers said that the pollutants should not affect the well-being of most churchgoers since they are only there for a short time, but that priests and especially devout church goers who spend long periods of time inside poorly ventilated chapels could be endangering their health.

"It cannot be excluded that regular exposure to candle- or incense-derived particulate matter results in increased risk of lung cancer or other pulmonary diseases," wrote Theo de Kok, leader of the Maastricht team.

It is because of findings like these that more people are switching over to handmade soy candles.
Soy is know to burn clean and not give off that black smoke that not only is bad for your health but is also bad for the rest of your house as well.

There is something about burning handmade soy candles that makes you feel good. Just knowing that you are burning a product that a person, not a machine took great care to produce.

From the production end it gives us a smile on our face with each handmade soy candle that we make, knowing that someone somewhere is going to enjoy what we have labored to create.

With our handmade soy candles it also helps us to know that we are involved in a small way to help keep our environment a little bit cleaner. Since soy is an eco friendly product it means that for every soy candle that is burned one less paraffin candle has been burned and we have helped to keep our air a little cleaner.

The handmade soy candle with the star lampshade is a favorite with many people. It gives you that back home feeling. The star lampshades come in either black or silver to fit with any decor in your house.

These are also perfect to sell if you have a business that sells eco friendly products. With our wholesale program many businesses small and large are selling soy candles. With low minimums and lots of great fragrances to choose from they make a great addition to the product line of any business.

When buying candles wholesale you will find that there are hundreds maybe even thousands of companies that will sell you candles at wholesale pricing. You need to do your research to make sure that the company that you are buying from can deliver the candles to you in a timely manner and that the candles will present well.

We recommend before buying wholesale candles that you buy a few samples first. Make sure that the company that you are buying from has a candle that not only presents well but one that burns well also. There is nothing more impressive than a soy candle that burns properly. This is because most people are used to only about half of their candle burning. A soy candle that burns properly will burn completely, there will be nothing left but about a 1/4 of an inch at the bottom and that is only because you do not want to get whatever it is sitting on to hot.

You may find that you can buy paraffin candles a little cheaper, but in the long run soy candles are cheaper since they will burn up to 50% longer than paraffin candles and are eco-friendly candles.

Many people are turning to soy candles and for good reason.

Why are so many people turning to the soy candles?

Zionsville Candle company answers that question: “Some truths about paraffin: Have you ever wondered why when you are burning your candle, there is black soot that covers the rim of the jar?

Just think about this, that soot and additional particles are traveling throughout your home, leaving traces on bedding, furniture and clean dishes. You and your family are breathing this into your lungs when this candle is burning.

Paraffin wax candles are known to have 11 toxins that are thrown into the air while burning. No need to panic, a new option is available. Soy. If you know nothing yet about soy, don’t worry. Many people have yet to learn about this new product, so you are not alone. Soy is naturally grown and is non-toxic. Paraffin comes from petroleum.

Imagine helping to support American Soybean Farmers and getting a safer and cleaner candle to burn throughout your home that the entire family can enjoy without pollutes filling the air. We have found that most people prefer richly scented candles. When looking for candles there are 2 basic categories of fragrances. You have floral fragrance candles and then you have food fragrance candles. We realize that even though most people prefer highly scented candles not everyone does, that is why we make both highly fragrant and less fragrant candles in both floral and food fragrances.

What we have done is create what we call the "Sniff and Throw" test for each of our candles. We created this to allow you to pick and choose the type of candle that you enjoy most. If you like a candle that has a high fragrance when you smell it but a lower fragrance when you light it just look through our list and I am sure that you can find on that you like. Or you might like a richly scented candle all the time whether it is lit or not, you can find that on our list as well.

Come and take a look at our candle fragrance chart, I am sure that you will find something that will meet your needs.
